So kind of an embarrassing story but there is a lesson to be learned...
The other night Nic and I had put the kids to bed a little bit early. No particular reason. They were just tired and ready. As we were on the floor cleaning up the remainder of the wooden train set I simply ask "What do you want to do tonight?" Because I'm feeling almost energetic and excited that our kids are in bed before their "bedtime."
Nic looked at me puzzled. He did not know how to answer my question. He assumed there was something I wanted him to say but did not know what it was and did not want to say the wrong thing, he later explained to me.
I then suggest some things we could do, "Do you want to watch a movie, watch a show, have sex?"
"Sure." he replies. "Are you being serious?"
"Um. Yeah." I say.
"Okay."
So it's decided. We are going to have sex...and watch some tv. Pretty typical night, right?
Then he asks which I would like to do first, sex or tv?
"Whatev." Is my response. (I'm a pretty easy going person.)
"Let's watch a show first." He says.
"K."
We turn on Hulu and watch the latest Glee episode. Half way through the show I fall asleep. I'm done for. Once I fall asleep I turn into a not so easy going person. The show ends and Nic seems a bit disappointed. I can't blame him. No more sex. I'm off to bed without any hesitation.
In the morning I replay the evening in my head and conclude that from now on first comes sex, then comes...GLEE! (or whatever else you have "planned"). Then I made it up to him.
Oh my gosh I love this :) Laughed so hard. Daniel snickered at the "Once I fall asleep I turn into a not so easy going person" part. That's always my story.
