Birthday Girl

I love being able to spend time with girlfriends. Yesterday was Katie's birthday. Katie is smart, funny, sensitive, and an amazing mom. She is an example to me in so many ways. When I catch myself yelling at my kids, I think, Katie would never do that. So anyways, being that it was her birthday, it was the perfect excuse for some girl time which is a must do for your birthday. Katie brought her kids over bright and early and we took off to Kneader's for some of their amazing French Toast, kid free. (Huge shout out to my amazing husband, Nic, for watching the kids and taking Zach to school. Thank you, I love you!) Another friend, Shauna, met us there. We talked about our fears and weaknesses as mom's, ridiculous stories from our dreaded teenage years, and a few church items. It was a lovely breakfast with lovely friends.

If you are looking for some girl time, like today or tomorrow, I highly recommend driving over to the Riverwoods to check out the Beehive Bazaar. I went last night with Katie and couple of her friends for her birthday. This is a biannual event that happens every Spring and Winter where you can buy things from local artists and crafters.  Everything there is homemade, unique, and one of a kind.

So, if you know someone who is having a birthday, give them the gift of sanity by taking them out. Stay sexy and sane ladies! Find time for girl time. Go to a boutique or just chat over some good food, kid free!
