First and foremost, this blog is for moms. So if you are not a mom, you are more than welcome to stick around and read but you may get bored (or just wonder why anyone decides to have kids).
One of the first two things I felt like I may have lost or sacrificed after having kids was my SEXINESS and my SANITY.
Let's be honest, pregnancy and giving birth does one hell of a job on your body. Stretch marks, weight gain, acne, hair loss, hair growth in unwanted places, etc, etc. Then there is breast feeding. Such a beautiful intimate thing between you and your brand new baby but you can't help but wonder...Will my boobs ever look and feel the same? ...Will my husband still enjoy them after watching my baby suck on them all day long? So thus, the sexiness is gone.
And sanity...well, it's pretty hard to feel sane when you havn't had a full night of sleep in who knows how long. If you can remember a doctor's appointment with out having to write it down on your 5 different calendars, then you deserve a gold medal. Also, it's no longer up to you to decide how the day will play out. It's up to your kids, and when they decide to blow out their diaper, get sick, have a tantrum for no good reason, take a nap, not take a nap, and on and on.
So, as moms, I think we can all agree that it's hard and sometimes impossible to feel SEXY & SANE.
But we all know it's worth it. We love our kids and our families more than anything else in the world. We would do anything for them. We will never forget the tender moments we get with our kids when you see them smile or laugh or hear them say that they love you, or when they fall and scrape their knee and the only person that can make it feel better is mom and your gentle kiss. It's all so worth it, even if we feel like we've lost all sexiness and sanity about us. But do we really have to sacrifice these two things or can we have both?
I'm creating this blog so that I can have both, so WE can have both in our lives. We are going to teach each other with our creative and inspiring ideas how to be the best mothers we can be all while remaining SEXY and SANE!
